Hey,

I am keen to start learning Japanese, but am unsure which book to begin learning from.

Japanese from Zero looks like it might be a good place to begin?

How is Colloquial Japanese?

Thanks

I used Colloquial Japanese. I don't think you can really go wrong with it, although there are more comprehensive and expensive books out there.

I would suggest Genki or Minna no Nihongo but they are a bit pricey. They are the most popular among students. :D
