Have a textbook or grammar book that you find particularly helpful? What about a learning tip to share with others?

Looking for strong cultural or daily-life resources

I've been reading through 日本人の知らない日本語, and I really enjoyed the cultural insights that the book conveys -- even stuff as simple as the discussion on older kana that still show up.

I've also greatly enjoyed reading the manga series よつばと for similar reasons -- it's about normal daily life and learn about some of the stuff that Japanese people see every day and is part of their lives.

I was wondering if people knew other good resources for similar material? I would greatly appreciate suggestions -- most grammar books don't cover cultural material (or if they do, it's the usual '祭り' related stuff (not that there's anything wrong with that).

It seemed like this question could go in the manga section or even the cultural section -- I wasn't sure!
