A Question on Verbs
Hello all, as you can see, I'm new here and have a few questions.
I just started learning this fine language two weeks ago. I have learned kana and can recall it with ease so now I'm moving on to kanji. Along with that I have started pursuing grammar at the same time. The grammar is, oddly enough, where I am finding some odd things.
Having learned and studied a few other languages, I was given an ample amount of verb sheets to learn and practice with. Seeking to the same in Japanese seems...tricky. The thing is, I can't find a decent web page that lists a good amount of verbs anywhere. Google search seems to turn up more sites that have to do with conjugation and other aspects of grammar than with the actual verbs themselves.
Now, am I missing something here? Is it just that verbs are a finely guarded Japanese secret or did I miss something about the language where verbs are few to come by? Even checking the links stickied at the top of this forum didn't produce much, unless I am missing something. Any help with this would be most appreciated and any links to helpful sites would be welcomed as well. Thanks in advance, and its always fun being the new one around!

Hmm...yeah, nothing from that link except a number to buy the domain, heh. Been trying to find a comprehensive list of verbs for a while now and with no luck.

Bingo, there it is. Though not a comprehensive list, this should nonetheless, be large enough to satisfy me for the time being. I can't thank you enough hamster, your help was most appreciated!

Interesting selection there.
Just for your info - don't write います with the kanji (as 居ます), it just looks silly.

I found another list here: http://www.asian-language.pomona.edu/ktakahashi/1BverbList.html
It's useful because it shows you the plain form ("infinitve"), classification and even some conjugations.

It works fine for me. Have you tried changing the encoding of your browser?
