I was going to hiring my brother to write a program somewhat similar to the one you have, but it would not work on the net but on a PC only, yours is a better way of doing it! ;)
The only major difference other than the net, was it would have had an on screen key board of the hiragana that you had to match the Hiragana to the sound.
Keep up the great work!!!!!! By the way, I left out a few of the sounds by mistake, if you need them I can post the missing ones too.

Thanks for the hiragana game!! I think I found one small error.
て says it is " to" instead of " te" . Was it my computer or is it in the system that way?

Do you plan to create one for Katakana?
Thanks again,
Barbara

Wooot my first bug :D hehe thank you for reporting :)
Yep its a bug i fixed it and fixed the "n" to "N" :)

I will make one for KATAKANA when i'm finished with learning HIRAGANA :)

I don't know how many HIRAGANA there are in the language but if you want me to make a different HIRAGANA please give me a link to it and if you can a basic instructions on how i can write it with windows Xp :)
The sounds will delay because i have 8k/s net atm and i'm hosting a forum too so lol ;)
I'll add them at the begining of next month :)
Once more thanks for reporting that bug ^____^

I believe there are 76 Hiragana:

51 basic syllables
あいうえお
かきくけこ
さしすせそ
たちつてと
なにぬねの
はひふへほ
まみむめも
やゆよ
らりるれろ
わを

20 Daku-on
がぎぐげご
ざじずぜぞ
だぢづでど
ばびぶべぼ

5 Han-Daku-on
ぱぴぷぺぽ

I dont know would you put the 36 You-on or the Soku-on as part of the hiragana to create the 112 syllables in japanese or is that just clasified under grammar??

1 Soku-on
っ

36 You-on
きゃ きゅ きょ
しゃ しゅ しょ
ちゃ ちゅ ちょ
にゃ にゅ にょ
ひゃ ひゅ ひょ
みゃ みゅ みょ
りゃ りゅ りょ
ぎゃ ぎゅ ぎょ
じゃ じゅ じょ
ぢゃ ぢゅ ぢょ
びゃ びゅ びょ
ぴゃ ぴゅ ぴょ

I used a book for this one and in that book there are 70 Hiragana :)
The point of this tool is to learn to recognise the symbols.
I have a good visual memmory so when i study from the book i link the position of the symbol to his sound but if displayed randomly i can't make the connection :) So that's why i made this tool.Kinda to restrict myself from cheating hehe ;)
It displays a random hiragana image but it doesn't check if the chosen new image is the same like the last chosen one.
I'm not a flash guru and this is even beyond my skills lol ;)
The next tool will be : hear the sound and write the symbol.
KINGZ if these symbols are part of HIRAGANA i will add them but please add there sounds in latin letters :)

I know for sure the first 76 are part of the hiragana chart to get you:
A, K, S, T, N, H, M, Y, R, W, D, B, P, G, Z, (ing)
I'll attach the sound files later today for these.

As for the You-on, not sure if they are classified as a single Hiragana or as a grammar item, due to they use two hiragana to make one syllable sound.

Hmm, I’m not sure about that, the definition of a syllable is the smallest part of a spoken sound in a language. A word could be a single syllable or mutable. Each one of them only has one syllable. or are you talking about the you-on

Nope.

1 : a unit of spoken language that is next bigger than a speech sound and consists of one or more vowel sounds alone or of a syllabic consonant alone or of either with one or more consonant sounds preceding or following
- webster.

bold added.

A vowel in the middle of a word doesn't begin a new syllable. It continues the last until the next syllabic consonant.
