Need japanese learning software recommendation.

Have a textbook or grammar book that you find particularly helpful? What about a learning tip to share with others?

Need japanese learning software recommendation.

Post by TuxedoMask » Wed 10.25.2006 6:41 pm

I learn best on my own (for all things), and am most used to using a computer interface (I have a laptop with me wherever I go, so is also more convenient).

I'm looking for a recommendation for software to learn japanese. My goal is to be able to handle basic conversation, read, and write kana, and understand the common kanji.

I have used Power Japanese in the past. I found it okey, but not great. Was thinking of trying it again, but looking for other suggestions.

I have tried the Rosetta Stone, but was not crazy about that (doesn't really help with understanding grammer nor any real structure to it. I.e. lack of good lesson plans).

Any other suggestions, would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
