Hi. I stumbled across this site today and thought I'd join the forum here. I decided to start trying to learn Japanese on my own recently, and am just now beginning to learn hiragana, so I obviously have a long way to go. Anyway, pleased to meet everyone.

hajimemashite. you're not far behind me in your studies. whenever you need help, just post a thread. everyone here (that i've encountered) is friendly and willing to help, even with the most basic of questions. hope you enjoy your stay here.

I'm on week 3 (I think). Certain things are actually already making sense! Heck, I was able to read my Asahi beer bottle last night. :o
