Post by Kansha » Fri 02.05.2010 11:04 pm

Konnichiwa! watashi wa firipin jin desu, soshite, Nihongo no gakusei desu. Dozo yorushiku onegai shimasu. :D

That's probably all I know. I'm excited to be part of this site. :) You can call me "Kansha," Nihongo o benkyo-shimasu, sukoshi wakarimasu.

I can't read Japanese characters yet, i only know little Romaji, i hope i can find friends here whom i can chat with in Romaji to improve my language. :)

Got to go for now, watashi wa kyoshitsu e ikimasu! :D

Kansha-san yookoso. Watashi mo Nihongo no gakusei desu.

watashi wa kyoshitsu e ikimasu
Just a little note about this sentence. I am assuming you meant to say I am going to class. The word kyoshitsu however means classroom as in the physical place/actual room, not the group of students and the teacher. The word you need here is either kurasu(class) or jugyoo (also class), though I think kurasu is more common.

yeah... my nihongo is way far from perfect. i'm just studying the basics. but point taken! Arigato! i think kurasu is what i'm referring to. :D

I just got home from my Jap class. we studied about adjectives today. Muzukashi desu... :sweatdrop: now i have to memorize those w/ 'na' form and the 'ii' form.. and it changes when used in NEGATIVE form! sigh... ~

by the way, please correct me for any mistakes i make when writing in Romaji. I NEED THAT! :!: i think this is one of the safest place to practice. :P

From the http://thejapanesepage.com/faq
Rule #3:
3: Do not use offensive language. Treat other people with respect. Many people find the abbreviation 'jap' offensive. Please refrain from using it.
I'm sure you meant no offense, but let's use "Japanese" from now on.

ありがとう! (arigatou!)

By the way, have you started working on learning the kana yet? If you work on learning a couple a day you can get a good feel for most of them in a week or two. Plus you will be able to get regular practice here on the forum as there is plenty of hiragana/katakana used on a regular basis! :) I think it's a good idea to start learning the kana as soon as possible as it opens up so much more practice material for you and lets you practice remembering them every time you read them...

Well, rather than repeat myself, go ahead and check out my post from back in December about it. :D

I hope it's helpful! :D

WOAH! Gomenasai Minasan! will use the whole word from now on.

Arigato Gozaimasu! The link is very useful. I'll probably just do a self study on kana as my class only covers romaji, (more on conversations - writings not included) but after completing it, i'll enroll for another class that does the hard stuff. :)

Konnichiwa, Kansha! Nihongo wa totemo muzukashi desu! Dakara, ganbatte~ :)

Don't worry, I think the hiragana and katakana are the easiest part. The grammar is a bit difficult, too, but I try to remember that most of japanese is guesswork. You just have to make sure the listener knows for sure which word is the subject, adjective, etc etc. Good luck in class!
