hello!

I'll stick to English for an introduction so as not to misrepresent my skill level, haha. I have self-studied Japanese on and off for a few years, but I never had an opportunity to take a class. As I am presently between degrees in university, I need something to study, and it seems as good a time as any to return to my self-study of Japanese (:

I recently learned how to make my Mac type in kana, which is very exciting, haha. Let's see, like many here I am sure, I became interested in Japanese through anime and manga. Though I do much less watching of anime these days, Japanese culture is still to me very beautiful, and I love the language. So here's to more learning!

Welcome to TJP! :) Sounds like we're in a similar position. I don't watch much anime etc anymore... but I still love the language and find the culture fascinating etc. I do still follow Naruto in the anime and manga though. ;) And I mostly just watch Japanese tv dramas these days to try to keep my ears in tune etc.
