Hello
I'm from the west coast of Canada. I've been interested in Japanese for a while, and even took half a year of it in high school, but haven't really learned much. Now I'm relearning from the ground up, and my learning has been kick-started because my mom is taking me to a japanese opera at the end of May. English is my first language, French is my second, which makes Japanese my third. I enjoy watching anime, writing, and riding horses. I hope to make a trip to japan at some point.
Well, nice to join here! I'm more of a lurker though, at least until I get a better understanding of the language.

TJPへようこそ
I know what you mean about being more of a lurker.
I read this site about 2-3 times a day, and post maybe once a week if I'm lucky.

Re: Hello
Ah, allow me to welcome you in your own language:
Welcome, eh.

I was briefly engaged to a lovely thing from Vancouver. I therefore have an inordinate fondness for western Canuckland.

Haha, thank you. Now I feel so much more at home here. I'll actually be moving to Vancouver next year.
Thanks for the welcome.
どうぞよろしく。(just learned this from my textbook today!)

Re: Hello
Vancouver is a cool place. After years of watching Stargate and the X-Files, I feel like I've been there a hundred times.
I think if I were to ever move to Canadia (heh) I'd go to Vancouver. It's such a wonderfully cosmopolitan city. I have friends in Tronno, but... sorry. Vancouver has more cool Asian stuff.

Re: Hello
So far, if I were gonna move elsewhere in Canada I'd move to Ottawa because that's a pretty chill place. I don't get to Vancouver too much, but I imagine once I do it'll be chill too. Tronno? Did you mean Toronto? I haven't been there since I was really young. Don't have anyone I know there either, so I probably won't go anytime soon.
Vancouver should be cool because then I can pester my cousins.

Do you mean that "Tronno" is not the correct pronunciation?
When I lived the USA I even worked with a guy from Tronno for a while. But then I also worked with someone from Marilyn.
Don't complain to me that people kick you when you're down. It's your own fault for lying there

I booked an airline flight for someone from Wooster once.... after I argued with him that American Airlines doesn't service Wooster for about half an hour. Boy was I wrong, we did in fact service Worcester, MA. O.O I'm not from the Northeast... how was I to know!? It's almost as bad as N'awlins.

Re: Hello
Well, I'm not from the east, and I know the dialect is a little different there... so maybe it is? I don't consciously say To-ron-to or Tronno, but I've never heard myself say it and never really listened closely to anyone else say it. I never knew I had an accent until some guy from Texas pointed it out. When I was 19.
