Hello there.

Well, I guess this is my introduction.

I'm not quite certain where to start off, since I've only started learning Japanese around a week ago.
So, as you might be able to tell from that sentence, I'm a bit intimidated by the grammatical structures, kanji, keigo, etc.

So far, I've memorized the kanas, and have a small vocabulary.
Around...30 kanji, I'd say.

And that's a bit...discouraging for me.
30 kanji, out of thousands.

Anyway, enough troubling issues.

This is my introduction, and, albeit I sounded like a pathetic dog whining for water, I hope you guys will be able to help me out a bit in the complicated stuff. :D

ありがとうございます.

Don't worry too much, there are only about 2,000 general use kanji :D

30 kanji in your first week is actually not bad, just stay motivated, I think that's the hardest part.

Welcome to the forums :D

Thanks, chikara, Dustin.

2,000 kanji, huh.
That's good to hear.

I knew it was gonna be a bit hard, and I guess I was spot on. :D
Also, do you know of a list that might be useful in picking out the most used kanji or phrases?

If you go to the kanji lessons on this site and start with the 4th kyuu kanji that will give you a good basis. As for phrases you could start with basic greetings and work your way through the other basic lessons.
