I did wonder if there actually was a quintessential Canadian accent given there are English Canadians and French Canadians. I worked with a Newfie once and his accent was almost Irish.

Newfies sound pretty odd to the rest of us as well.
If you're not a Newfie, or a french Canadian, than other than a few terms ( poutine eh? lol my spell check doesn't even recognize that) we speak pretty well like the northern states do. As you get south I hear a pretty deep southern accent, but most of the northern states sound like the rest of us up here in Canada
