Hello!

Post by wingyun » Thu 04.07.2011 12:19 pm

In my case, I first started liking Japanese culture a few years ago with anime and manga. Since then I've moved on, exploring different parts of Japanese entertainment, etc. Recently I decided to pick it up again, because from watching many shows/movies, I actually understand a lot of what they're saying, but still don't have full understanding of certain things (like grammar).

I learn Spanish in school and take conversational Mandarin Chinese classes on weekends. Because of school and learning the Chinese writing system from scratch, I decided that it'd be easier to just learn conversational Japanese as well, so no hiragana and katakana for me (yet).

Thanks for the welcome! As for how I manage, well I've been taking Spanish for years (in school every day) so it's not that hard anymore, but I have trouble keeping up with the Mandarin, which is for 2 hours on the weekends. I'm honestly not good at time managment, but I've been trying. :sweatdrop:
