My name is Anthony, I just turned 23 and I'm in the Navy. After my enlistment is up (all 6 years of it) I play an getting out, going to college and coming back in as an officer (linguist). I want to major in International Studies with a focus on Japan/Asia. I have 2 years to go before I get out and I'm trying to get a head start. A few months ago I got really excited about the idea and bought many books on the subject but after finding japanese grammar to be completely...unique...I became frusterated and gave it up for a while. I think I just had to reclaim my cool and build up some more motivation because now that I'm taking another swipe at it I feel just as excited about tackling this language as I did before. I'm looking for a forum where I can ask questions, get hints/tricks, and find out some good sources on how to learn the language....as easily as possible. I just found this website while I was browsing around the other day and it seems full of useful information. I'm hoping that I can contribute some good work to this site...in advice if nothing else...but first I need to get myself up and going. I want to say thank you in advance to all the people who will (hopefully) help me.
just started learning japanese....its hard, I need help!
