My advice for improving pronunciation? Watch lots of Japanese movies and imitate their pronunciation. Listen, pause, repeat what they just said. That way you're exposing yourself to different people's speech instead of one person's overly precise pronunciation on one "learn to speak" DVD or the like (not that they are bad, just...not diverse)
