Anyway, My name is Andreas and I am an 18 y/o male from Sweden.
my native languages are Swedish and English and I am learning Japanese (obviously)

So... I guess I should say hi...

Is google translate lying or does this have some sort of specific meaning in Japanese?

Google translate isn't lying, but Japanese and English are very different languages which Google translate is very poor at translating smoothly.

はじめまして(Hajimemashite) = this is a set phrase used to greet someone the first time you meet them.

どうぞよろしく(Douzo yoroshiku) = another set phrase used to extend/request hospitality, good intention for the future relationship with that person. Maybe just best to think of it as 'nice to meet you' for now.
