Hello from the USA!!

Konnichiwa!!
My name is Temperance (nickname is Tempy), and I'm a 22 year old female from the east coast of America. I love everything related to Japan (language, music, folklore, customs, and ANIME!!). I tried to teach myself Japanese years ago, so I have a general background of the language, but never really practiced conversations. I would mostly translate songs and look up random vocabulary. I learn languages best by studying whatever interests me at the time (right now I'm into Japanese cooking!!).
Besides using the forum, I'd like to make some friends who are also learning Japanese and want to use Skype or something to practice. It would be very casual, with no pressure. Just friendly and fun!!
I'm very passionate about Japan and I love to learn, so....

In addition to Skype, I recommend visiting TJP's chat, which is also a good relaxed environment to study Japanese with others.
