why hello there

Postby ayaito » Tue 01.03.2006 8:45 pm

my name is rachel, but most of my friends call me day.

i didnt read any of the other introduction forums, so i dont really know what to say here. but ill just take the title to heart and introduce myself quite plainly.

-i am 15; live in a city called "wyoming"; i am a sophomore.
-i love to sew and due to americas lack of interest in adopting things other than polos and jean skirts in the clothing world, sew some of my own clothes. i love the lolita fashion in japan (and i love mana!)
-visual kei rocks my world.
-i do colour guard and winter guard, and i do flag, rifle, and sabr'e.
-i have a boyfriend named ross, and he loves shakespeare.

i decided to learn japanese after a long chain of interest from learning about the lolita fashion rage. i saw mana, mana was pretty, and then discovered that mana was a japanes guy. and then i learned that he was in a band called malice mizer (or marisu miseru), and searched a bit and found some of their music.

and loved it. the first thing i ever heard was a forty - second clip taken right out of the middle of bel air and memorized just that, japanese and all.

after listening to that for months, i found the whole song, and more, and just now ordered a CD from them (which hasnt arrived yet!)

somewhere in the midst of all of that, i adored manas lolita-ness and looked it up. some websites having patters + my loving to sew = i have lolita clothes! although the gosurori patterns i used were in japanese. minor detail.

and so i started to learn the kana. and then months later, got a book from the library to learn the language. and now i own quite a few and obsessively and almost mechanically write notecards with words on them and memorize them like crazy. i adore languages, and japanese is not only

1. interesting
2. i can understand my patterns and music!
3. the communication of a totally cool country, culture and all.

which led me then to learning more about japan as a whole. and to being here.

i hope i didnt rattle on, ignore the above words if i did. but that is me. questions? ask. :D

day

Great! Oh yes, I must tell you that we don't allow more than one post in a row. Gotta' tell you that, being an Admin...please avoid it in future!

You can always edit your original post, kay?

P.S. I visited your deviantart, I love your drawings. I envy your talent, drawing is one of those things I would give anything to be good at ^.^.
