I've been learning Japanese for about a year now(ever since my friend got me into anime and manga) and I've recently started learning it more seriously. I know katakana, but I don't know hiragana because for whatever reason, I don't like it very much.Except for the 'a'. In my spare time I draw manga and attempt to translate American songs into Japanese.(which is hard, especially if you aren't fluent in Japanese)

Hiragana is actually the most important. If you are learning more seriously, you should start learning hiragana first. ;)
