I'm the new noob. I've been here a few times in the past, but I never registered for some reason. I've been studying the language as a hobby for approximately six months, been infatuated with the country's ancient history and culture for much much longer (ever since I was a kid and got my first bonsai). Currently reading The Tale of the Heike. Great literary piece. Japanese literature has been greatly overlooked in the West, which I think is a shame.

Well, enough about me. Nice to meet you all.
