newbie question

Post by Charlie Brown » Sat 02.25.2006 5:32 am

Howdy,
I just stumbled across this site a few days ago. I,m an apprentice bladesmith(just a hobbie) here in the USA, and was looking for pics of japanese swords, when I came to this site by accident. Seemed pretty neat so I started memorizing Hiragana . My question is, how can you tell where one word ends and another begins without spaces between the words?

Thanks for your time,
Chris

In hiragana only, you can't; with kanji mixed in, however, the kanji will usually start a new word.

That makes a little more sense.

Thanks
