誠こそ偽り多き世の浪を乗り切る船の力なりけれ

会津・松平容保公のご子息がよく揮毫していたものとして紹介されていた歌です。

古本屋で入手した絶版本に載っていました。気に入ったのでメモしておこうと思っていたのに、どうやらその本をどこかに置き忘れてしまったらしい。
記憶が薄れる前にご紹介します。

I'd make comment on the first part of your post, but I'm afraid I haven't improved my Japanese in quite a long time. There's too many names for me to actually be certain what is being talked about. If we go beyond like.. a single nested phrase I get all kinds of lost, too. I'm such a terrible student. :/

Thank you for the welcome back.. it's not really permanent though. I've been doing surgery preparations for the past several months and been trying to limit my internet visitations. Cutting out TJP was part of that decision. haha.. I spent far too much time here.

I've been doing surgery preparations for the past several months and been trying to limit my internet visitations. Cutting out TJP was part of that decision. haha.. I spent far too much time here.

Surgery prep? Are you in med school? (I don't want to think of the alternative!)

And... CAN one spend too much time here?

I wish. I've got some disabilities, not the least of which are some bone problems with my legs. I have let the pain really limit me and have essentially hermited myself... too much time on the 'net, not enough activity. I'll be having bariatric surgery to help me get my weight under control before I go and probably have my hip replaced. Babysitting the TJP forums for the next post I can help with and/or learn from just fed my sloth-like tendencies. I belong out playing with my kids.... so I aim to get there. ^_^

Best of luck with all that. Let us know how things go. We worry. (We're so pathetic that way. Go a week without calling, we start wondering what we did wrong. )

At least it'll give you some down time to play with the computer, though...
