Should we count my signature as geeky?
Definitely. Hm, the equation needs some fixing:
TJP geekiness factor = [posts/(actual date - date joined) - level of Japanese knowledge] + references to anime/manga in username, avatar and signature + geekiness in username, avatar and signature
That means that a geeky anime/manga reference gets two points!
Should we add something related to the shoutbox to the equation? If that's so, I'm screwed.
Mine would be: [(1025/417) - 1] + 0 + 0 = 1.46
Chris Hart is geekier than I! Darn.
I just had an idea, so I am resurecting this thread. In addition to the typical Name/AVI/posts/Location/Joined date, how about a geekiness level showing next to posts, or on the members page. It would simply take 1 variable to be added to the member's profile - a geekiness/anime adjustment, and the above is a simple formula. I think the above formula is perfect for this.
My geekiness as of this post is 1.7922912205567451820128479657388
Edit to add geekiness score

Isn't that the point of this thread?
score as of this post:
1.792735042735042735042735042735
EDIT:
I just realized, all other factors being equal, (IE geekiness/anime references) linguistic knowledge has nothing to do with geekiness. Perhaps that portion of the above mentioned formula should be removed.

no, the point of this thread is to berate those that are geeky.. not try to out geek the rest of the geeks here.

I'm nearing 3000 posts...I post so much because I use this board as a break from studying. So I study for 45 minutes or so, then check TJP, then another 45 mins of studying, etc. That adds up to a lot of visits and a lot of posts.

Be my guest. Tweak with it as much as you want.

But is there anything more geeky than establishing and formulating a way to distinguish geeks from non-geeks?
Is there anything more geeky than learning 3000 kanji?
gentlemen, we must acknowledge that we are infact a race of Geeks.

And doing as I have suggested above would simply serve to remind us of that, every time we visit this site.
