What does Santa eat in your country?

A bit to late to talk about this subject maybe? :p Well anyways,

This is kinda weird for me, I grew up with pictures, and people that told me, that santa ate porridge. (Not that i believed he did that in every country, I just never thought of it) And here the other day, me and a danish friend discussed this subject (now what a weird discussion! Who discuss that? *Don't remember how we came into that subject*) and he told me that santa ate porridge in his country too.
And then I got curious and asked some other people in other countrys (How I love the internet) what santa ate there, well, that was not porridge. :p

I guess the porridge might have something to do with some culture in my country, maybe. (?)

So I'm curious, what does Santa eat in your country? or should I say "eat". :p

This can turn into a very interesting thread. :p Is it only in Norway and Denmark that Santa eats porridge? :p

yes this is a very weird thread this is but in the US they get kids to believe he eats cookies and drinks milk

I agree with the cookies and milk in America. ^^ On another note, I find this very interesting. Unlike Zeo who assumed he ate different things different places, I always assumed he ate cookies and milk everywhere!:o

Thinking back on it now, I guess it seems a little silly.

To be more cost effective, Santa and his posse have moved to
India where the standart of living and production costs are
so much lower than in the western hemisphere. Don't be stranger
to offer tandoori chicken and naan bread to help the geezer
fit in. The factories in India are hastily being converted to produce
Christian gifts to fit the diminishing need but don't feel stranger to
lay off the unproductive work force(midgets). It's 21st century.

When I was a child I didn't expect Santa-san came. Because there wasn't tall chimney in our house. However St.Nicholas came to my bed side to give a gift. How wonderful!! I was so happy.
I said " Doumo arigatou Santa-san! ( thank you, Santa)"
Santa-san replied " Not at all, little coco-chan".
At that time, I, certainly, smelled NATTO on santa's breath.
I asked him " Santa san mo Natto ga suki ? ( Do you like Natto, too? " )
He said huffily " keep it secret! "

Since then, I never seen Santa-san.
After few years, I guessed he had tried to reduce his weight.
Here in Japan, even Santa-san eats Natto and Rice for his health.

LOL Well, this thread is sure different. I haven't believed in Santa since I was 9 (wow, I can't believe it's been 7 years already since I stopped), but I pretended to for a few years just so I could get more stuff on Christmas (hey, I was a kid). But like others have said, it's the cookies and milk thing here in the USA.

Someone else will elaborate I'm sure, but natto is a very traditional food in Japan and not a lot of gaijin like it. But I just saw something that said if you "if you like blue cheese, then you'll surely love natto". Nothing like pizza, wings and a lot of blue cheese, but a lot of people outside Buffalo dont like blue cheese.

Original thread, milk, cookies, and carrots for the reindeer. In past years my little brother and sister have gotten reindeer food recently with oats and sparkle mixed together.

Oh, I see. I'll have to try it sometime. I don't know what blue cheese tastes like as i've never tried it, so what have I got to lose LOL.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the carrots for the reindeer. Yeah, when I was younger, i'd always leave a plate of cookies and a cup of milk for Santa, with a few carrots next to them most years (but some years my mom would forget to buy them).

No, a nice big bowl of porridge for Santa-san. In Sweden, that is. I think I can see a pattern... Sweden, Denmark, Norway (What about the Finnish tradition?) - porridge, rest of the world - dead Santa.

Most Americans arent worried about Santa's health, thats why I leave enriched cookies, along with some cholesterol pills, and a multi-vitamin.
