View topic - Would you ever date a ganguro?

Don't know. Frankly, don't care.
Those of us who are into historical reenactment -- whether we're in ACW uniforms, RevWar, ECW, 100 Years War, or whatever, know some people think its strange. (Or worse -- I have friends who reenact WWII, and the ones doing Germany tend to get hell from people who don't realize its NOT REAL.) Besides, we do it on our own, for ourselves. Not out in front of the train station and walking around town. We don't parade our eccentricities -- or idiocies -- for the world.
You know, I kind of dig your samurai costume, too. Do your thing. I just think it's a little unbecoming for you to call them stupid for doing their thing. Strange? Silly? Sure. Stupid? That seems a bit harsh to me.

As my mom used to say, "I call them like I see them."

He's a guy. If you don't know him he looks like a nice girl. He may be weird but he's talented and I think he shouldn't be judged merely on looks. Like the ganguro.

never heard of mana?
Mana.... *shudders* Who knew a guy in a dress could be so intimidating? I seriously thought I was going to have nightmares after I found out about him...

On an earlier note, I have to admit I did ask my husband out when we first met based only on his looks (he reminded me of the pilot on the old "Airwolf" show) and he's admitted to me that he only went out with me because he couldn't say "no." Then I grew on him! We'll be married 12yrs this October!
We did the Ren-faire thing while we were dating and really enjoyed the comments from the Gas Station Clerks when we stopped for gas - in full costume!
