Military terms
Just came across this in the GLOSSARY OF TERMS USED IN AUSTRALIAN FLYING CORPS.
Who'd have thought it?
Anyway does anybody know a military term for crawling forward (literally hands and knees) ?
Landed
Having brought his machine to earth a pilot is said to have landed.

That would be a "high crawl", if I recall correctly from USMC boot camp. (A "low crawl" is down on your belly.)

Hmm, I was thinking of something I could use to improve the definition of 匍匐前進(ほふくぜんしん) on which there is a massive page in Japanese. According to that there are 5(!) levels of 'crawl' taught, 匍匐前進 refers to the lot.

I think we were only taught 3 levels of crawl, but that was almost 3 decades ago.
