Sofia Coppola's Lost in Translation inspired by Japanesefilm

Post by jackbcryan » Sun 11.23.2014 7:59 am

I recall seeing a movie from Japan either in 1995, 1996, or 1997 about a platonic relationship between a young man and a school girl. I can recall that the same main scenes in Sofia Coppola's Lost in Translation occurred in this Japanese movie. In particular the young man having sex with a woman (not the school girl) which is repeated in Lost in Translation when Bill Murray have sex with a woman singer. Both acts were just physical acts while the friendship with the school girl (in the Japanese film) and the Scarlett Johansson character (in Lost in Translation) were more deep while it was platonic. Does anyone remember this Japanese film from the period 1995 to 1997?
