"Country" Music

Postby Hatori » Tue 03.06.2007 11:21 pm

Hello.
I know it's an American thing, but I was wondering if there is any Japanese music that's like country music. I really love country, so I was wondering if it existed in Japan. :P ;)

Well...... Samisen or some Taiko groups/musicians maybe...... But its more of traditional music, I guess..

But maybe there some groups that use those instrument as their main thing? I would like to listen to such groups as well.....

Would Shoukichi Kina be considered country music? Ondos might also be considered country, I would think.

Shoukichi Kina samples here:

for example, Hana no Kajimaya sounds rather country like. I think of "country" as meaning sort of "folks" music.
