What's your favorite Japanese 'Love Story' movie?

I definitly think 世界の中心で愛を叫ぶ（sekai no chuushin de ai wo sakebu) is one of the greatest lovestories.

Densha Otoko (Train Man) is really good. And I'm a guy. . .so uhmm yeah. It's about an otaku who rescues a girl on the train from some drunken harasser.

If you're over 18, Nagisa Oshima's "Ai no corrida"... though not that optimistic.

I don't need happy endings. Plenty of those on TV.

I recently saw 'Sayonara Midori'. It's a difficult movie to watch in places because of the contempt the with which the main's boyfriend treats her, and her lack of ability to stand up for herself. However the karaoke scene at the end is one of the best scenes I've seen in any Japanese movie.

My most favourite love story is Taiyou No Uta the movie. Yui acted in the movie. I like the movie.

This is a really good movie, and Takeuchi Yuko is wonderful as always.

One of my favourite, though it is not a love story in the same sense, is Love Letter.
Nakayama Miho is just fantastic in this movie.

As mentioned from another poster, 太陽の歌 with Yui is also a good movie, and she plays the role very well.

I have both 'Heaven's Bookstore' and 'Love letter', and especially the last one I think is beautiful!
As for love stories:
April Story is a sweet movie, though not quite the same kaliber.

Other movies I think are great:
The Professor and His Beloved Equation

(I kind of like Etsushi Toyokawa ^_^, so 'Sinking of Japan' was enjoyable as well....)
nobody knows is not a love story, but very impressing!!! Very impressing.....
It's late now, so I'm not going to browse through my collection, but if I come across one that is sort of in the same category, I'll let you know.
In the mean time I'm open to any suggestion.

Don't like happy endings, "Tada, Kimi wo Aishiteru" is for you.
If your over 18 or mature enough for the language, "Renai Shashin".
Two movies with very similar plots and stories but with major differences too.

タイヨウのうた with YUI is one of the best (if not the best) movie I have ever seen. It made me cry and I can't say that from a lot of movies, I really really loved it.
