stratosphere girl
I saw this movie the other day. It's not a Japanese movie, but it's about women who go to work in nightclubs in Japan and have a difficult time. I'd say it's worth seeing.
In one scene a night club owner tells the main character "Sorry, Japanese only" and doesn't allow her to enter. Are there "Japanese only" places around Japan, other than night clubs, and places you would expect to be Japanese only, like Holy places and Government/Military etc.?.

I've heard about that. Don't they have signs up saying something like 'no foreigners allowed?'
Meh, their problem. I'd just go to the next place and spend my money there. :p

Out of curiosity, are 'No Foreigners' signs in Japanese?
Sometimes I think that I'm afraid of thinking, and that scares me.

Well, In the US, I have seen signs saying, "Free reading classes." With handy directions to where the classes are held.

Okay onsen too. I think I wouldn't be too outraged seeing Japanese only in nightclubs, baths, government/military and holy sites. If I saw a Japanese only bus say, I would find that outrageous. Is it all over the place? Would the average semi-literate Japanese think the Japanese only signs are offensive?
