Kanji Question...

I have Genki 1, and now I'm on lesson nine in dialogue and grammar, as well as lesson 9 in reading/writing kanji. The book came with this little booklet in the middle, with all the kanji that Genki is supposed to teach listed on the back. There were 317 kanji, I think. However I sort of subconsciously did the math and said to myself that there was no way that with only 10-15 kanji per lesson, that Genki 1 would never reach 317. I looked at the last kanji lesson, and it only got up to 142 or something, so my question is, is Genki II supposed to teach all the remaining ones and get you to 317 kanji?

I believe so. The booklet I have states the lesson numbers on the back chart.

Yes. Genki I has 12 chapters. Once you proceed to Genki II, which starts from Chapter 13 to 23, you'll find the rest of Kanji there.
