another typing in Japanese problem

hello, to all you computer savvy people out there!

I can't seem to type in Japanese anymore. I don't even know what happened really & I can't seem to reverse the effects. It's only in Internet Explorer that I can't type. I can even type Japanese in the address bar, just not the window. I have to type in another program (like Word) & then cut & paste. Sure, that works, but it's annoying.

Anyway, my computer has a Japanese keyboard & OS. When I try to change to kana using the button on the keyboard, nothing happens. If I do it manually, the hiragana symbol shows up ok. Japanese still doesn't come out though, even while it's in hiragana mode. This problem actually happened before, but a friend of mine fixed it (I'm not sure how & I can't get in contact with them anymore). When they fixed it though, the IME bar totally disappeared. Now, it's suddenly back again & doesn't work properly. go figure.

Any help would be appreciated, thanx

Try downloading a new web browser... such as Firefox or Avant Browser.

Hmm.. Try to reinstall your IME. (Thats only if you have a IME you have downloaded and not IME like XP.)
I dont know anything about XP, so if you have that i dont now. Sorry

I've tried reinstalling IME, but alas, it's still not working.

How are other browsers? I've only used IE.. well, I've used Netscape a little, but the others I don't know. Are they any good?

I use Firefox and it's an excellent browser. The best browser available is, supposedly, Opera, but to get the most out of it you need to pay.

Well. You can also download free version of Opera as far as I know.
But then the version will be with some advertisings.

I finally downloaded & installed Firefox. It works!! やった！！:D:D
