Japanese Roommate

I have been studying Japanese in my free time, which is not a lot these days as I am a freshman in college. About two weeks ago I was told that I would be moved to a new dorm room with a new room mate... well, as luck would have it my new room mate is from japan and came to the states a year ago to learn English.
