why don't you try playing in the The Japanese Word Game thread instead. much more productive and you might actually learn something.

the u sound in Japanese doesn't sound like the u in "cut" for example . Although it isn't very close, Japanese will usually use the 'a' sound. (Exceptions being when they use the British pronunciation for words like "hot dog" )
I also second the recommendation for the Shiritori game because it is something to do when you are bored, and the most it requires is looking in a japanese dictionary.
