Hikari-shi and Hiroshima?

Hello everyone! I'm just a poor little student that is going to Japan for a year in, 4 days now. More exactly in Japan is Hikari-shi in the Yamaguchi prefecture. Now I was wondering if anyone of you guys/girls know anything about this area, it would help me very much if I knew some more about it don't you think?

As for Hiroshima in the subject, I want to know more about that city because Hikari-shi, (where I am going to live) is located 90KM from it.

Any information about anything about these cities or areas would really make me happy! :D
