a weird movie (adult content!)

I saw this japanese film early last year called "jisatsu sa-kuru", aka suicide club.

Ya, has anyone else seen this film? I really don't understand the social satire that the director was trying to make.

If you see it, please explain to me the significance of the scene with the yellow baby chicks cooing happily with young children in raincoats idling in a red room, watching a disturbed, masked sadist slicing 3 x 10 cm slabs of skin off the backs of a queue of semi naked high school girls with a wood planer. Seriously, I don't get it.

But honestly, the girls were pretty hot-looking, before they got skinned.

I didn't see the movie but from your description it seems to me just a "see-how-i-can-shock-you-with-nonsense-splatter-and-appear-intelligent-and-brainy". Really shameful IMHO since theme is not to laugh at.

I think, anyway, that you can say lots about this problem (suicide clubs) without a single drop of blood. So I don't think too highly of the movie makers that do movies like this.

I disagree! Also I tried to watch the movie... however It just couldn't hold my interest.

Another movie that comes to mind though is Battle Royal... whatta a crazy movie. That it was great in a certain respect. (actiony + great ending)

"Anything about Japan or Japanese" as in anything about Japan or Japanese.
There was even a clear disclaimer in the topic, the text contained no profanities and was right on the subject.
The second post by spank was just plain funny (for those with sinister sense of humour)

One can find a separe forum for mere introductions which don't really contribute much to japanese culture in this site called TheJapanesePage.com. Would you believe that?

This is the General Discussion, as there are the "Culture and Info about living in Japan" and "Anime and Manga". So I assume that you can talk about Japanese culture at 360° (if you don't overdo or if you talk respecting basic rules).
Movies IMHO are part of a culture, like anime. Having a sense of culture I'm curious about something I don't know. If just only post about grammatical rules or verb basis you aren't going to be better at understanding japanese than a traslation program.
Anyway these are just my $0.2. Do you understand my point of view?
