Did the teachers at least have the decency to wear the narrow black necktie with their jogging suits?

Seriously, though, that kind of amazes me. Only slightly, though, as it seems so typical in my mind's eye that Japanese male teachers in the lounge sit around in jogging suits...

I still remember when I first started working in the schools, and I saw everyone wearing jogging suits in the school. So the next day I wore jeans, and I received a reprimand from my supervisor. I mentioned the jogging suits and it didn't even seem like he was conscious of the seeming contradiction of "jeans = bad, jogging suits = fine".

Of course, the cute young female coworker I had wore jeans frequently for the whole 2 years she was there, and nobody ever said anything to her. I'm sure that's just a coincidence, though. ;)
