I miss Japanese rice! It's so difficult to find good Japanese rice where I live now. What I'd give for a bowl of chahan right now!

Just explaining what chahan is. And yeah, it's Chinese, but you find it all over Japan and when you make it with Japanese rice it tastes better. And yes, I could go to the grocery store and buy some crap that will make Uncle Ben's look gourmet, but unfortunately where I live there is no Japanese rice that I can find. I certainly wouldn't buy a 25lb bag, either, but a 2 or 5 lb bag lasts a couple months. For those of you dissing on rice, you've obviously never had Japanese rice. It's much better than the stuff we get here in the states. That's why I miss it. I don't eat it here since it's crap. Over there it's good.

Japanese rice is alot better than other types of rice... we go through tons of nishiki brand japanese rice and calrose botan japanese rice ever since our grocery store got an internetional aisle. I eat rice nearly every day with tempura, stirfry, sushi, etc.

I'm not even remotely of Asian ancestory (German actually) and I eat more rice than that in 1 month...by myself. Too bad it sucks because it's american rice...
