going blind trying to read Japanese text

(^_^) Hello everyone,

I'm just wondering what everyones thoughts are about reading Kanji on the internet. Is it just me or some fonts so small that its impossible to actually try to read them without getting a really bad headache. Do they use large fonts on Japan on the internet?
even on this site.. some of the pages have tiny kanji that I can't eaven see..write back soon thanks

Most of the time I think it's ok.. sometimes I do have trouble reading more complex kanji though. If there's something I really want to read, I just increase my browser's font size & then switch it back when I'm done. Or you could copy & paste it into a word processor & make the font reallly big so you can see it properly.

I've noticed that Japanese pages are written with a bigger font, and thus are easier to read than english pages that have Japanese embedded in them. It's just part of the fact that in english, each character has fewer strokes than in Japanese, so Japanese characters are generally written larger.

Go to yahoo.co.jp. I'm sure you'll have no problem reading any of the kanji. (at least as far as size goes. )

You can generally resize text to your liking. For me it's a matter of holding CTRL and rolling the trackball. You can also change it through the menu at the top of your screen.

On my normal font size that character almost looks like a black square but it's not a problem as I just increase font size same way as shibakoen.

The Yahoo! Japan page was fairly easy to read, even though I couldn't understand a quarter of it...thank goodness for katakana lol.

In English, handwritten letters are bigger than typed letters. Is it the same in Japanese? I could not imagine a person trying to write the above kanji so small. Assuming the person's gyosho isn't attrocious, would handwritten Japanese be easier to read because of its size?

this si a very interesting topic. i write in my diary in japanese somethimes, with entries full of kanji,hiragana,katakana. its bigger yes. i have many japanese notebooks and the spaces between the lines are pretty big.....enough.:p
