Silly question

Postby eu01 » Sun 01.06.2013 4:10 pm

I'm full of these... but I got confused over something relatively simple :sweatdrop:

This is the question:

アメリカでは、年上の人だったら、ファ-ストネ-ムで呼びませんか。

Which I read as- In America, if it's an older person, don't you call them by their first name?

To which I responded- that even if they are older, you call them by their first name...

はい、年上の人でもファ-ストネ-ムで呼びます。

I feel like I may be off...

Thanks in advance. :D

I feel like you may be off on your thinking you may be off... seems perfect to me

Except that it's not really polite to use first names unless you're acquainted with them well.

>grumble grumble< kids today >grumble grumble< changing times.... :P

It's off; the はい should be いいえ.

Why are you typing hyphens instead of long vowel marks? :/
