Ladies and Gentlemen here,

I've already sent a PM to Yudan to express my apology and appreciation though,
I apologize again here that I confused you all.

EDIT: I changed it a little
EDIT2: :!: I totally changed my avatar on 08.18.2009
I realize that will make the many comments here incomprehensible.
Thank you for your understanding. :!:

It's no problem at all!! You have nothing to apologize for!

We were just talking about things we noticed. You did absolutely nothing wrong :P

Nothing to apologize for. I just suddenly changed my avatar because I felt like it -- maybe I should change it back so it doesn't cause any more confusion. :)

(BTW, Nilecat should be flattered that his posts can be mistaken for a native speaker of English!)

Maybe it's just because my monitor is huge so the avatars are further from my line of vision than usual?

Hmm, they don't look at all similar to me.. in fact they are so far from similar I have no idea how anyone could confuse those 2 avatars.. save they have white in them with black lines..

No, they DON'T look similar, except when seeing it at the edge of your vision and your mind fills in the blanks. :P But I thought it was just me and my eyes going crazy..... glad to know I wasn't the only one who kept thinking of へのへのもへじ until I looked straight at it. :P

Wait... what resolution are you running at? Because I have a huge monitor (22" CRT), but because I run it at 1600x1200, it feels like they're probably closer in my line of vision than they would be for other people.

Kind of a moot point since now both Yudan and NileCat have different avatars. But I did often mistake NileCat's old one for the henohenomoheji.

Hey, I went to the special effort of posting the originals of both so that we could still understand what the heck this thread was about. ;) http://thejapanesepage.com/forum/viewto ... 05#p156355

26" widescreen  When I scroll down I'm looking (naturally) at the start of the text on the left side, which means the avatars are about 11" to my peripheral (and 21 inches away).

Following your scientific lead on the other thread, this means I'm looking 27.6 degrees out the corner of my eye, which is not a small amount when it comes to recognizing detail.
