tomemasu or tomarimasu?

Post by lizahamid » Tue 09.08.2009 10:00 am

Hi,

Can someone help to explain the differences between these two verbs and the usage?: :?

1) Tomemasu (verb 2)
2) Tomarimasu (verb 1)

which one is correct – kuruma wo tomete kudasai or kuruma wo tomatte kudasai
“Tomaranai” & “tomenai” – are they the same meaning?

There are many verbs like the example above which makes me confuse:
1) Susumu (進む)
2) Susumeru (進める)

1) Tsuzukimasu (続きます)
2) Tsuzukemasu (続けます)

1) Akemasu (開けます)
2) Akimasu (開きます)

And of course there are many more..

Pls help to enlighten me on this with examples. :? :?

Thank you.

"intransitive verb" VS. "transitive verb"

kuruma wo tomeru 車を止める You stop the car.
kuruma ga tomaru 車が止まる The car stops.

That should be "mina-san". You don't double the "n" when you use the -san suffix with it. :)
