ならでは?
Hi guys/gals/and anything else that might be looking at this post
I came accross this in a message that was sent to me on Lang-8, and although I get the "gist" of it (i think) I don't fully understand it.
ネイティブ(native speaker)ならではの素敵な文章に直していただいて、感謝しています
She is thanking me for a beautiful native translation.
Could anyone perhaps help me out and give me a fuller translation, particularly because I wasnt to understand whats going on with ならではの素敵。 Is that a possessive after the topic marker? I don't get it.

Re: ならでは?
WWWJDIC translates ならでは as but; except; without; but for
and ならではの as distinctive of; characteristic of; uniquely applying to; special to
I don't know if that helps though!
I've just had a look for the answers in 'A Dictionary of Basic Japanese Grammar' and can't find ならでは anywhere, so I'd be interested in finding out this one too.

Re: ならでは?
I think sometimes, with Japanese, the whole is often far more than the sum of its constituent parts.
ならではの --> characteristic of? That's interesting.
Thanks Tokai

Re: ならでは?
I'm only speculating based off of this page: http://dev.jgram.org/pages/viewOne.php?tagE=naradeha
But maybe it could be something like:
"No one but a native could have put it into such a lovely sentence, I am grateful" <--- Yea I suck at translating, but hopefully I got my point across
Anyway as I said, that's only speculation, since I haven't seen this before myself, so I wouldn't take it as a correct answer.

Re: ならでは?
Lucas, fantastic!
That must be it. I'll have a look through more of those webpages too.
Thanks again
