Anyways, I have a sentence from an anime I wanted to write down, I was wondering if someone can help? I already done the work, I just wanted someone to double check for me as listing to jap is starting to grow on me a little bit more now, somewhat(:

Nice job I could be wrong but I'm heard two things differently.

The first one doesn't make sense to me but I heard 死は、甘えなんだと思う。

Second thing I heard differently is 当事者には

「甘い」と「甘え」
The way he uses it here seems to be "running away", I personally never seen it used this way(another one of those words that have tons of meanings lol).

You could be right, but personally 甘え doesn't seem to fit according to what the dict(Rikaichan) is giving me which is; depending on other's kindness, to depend on, take advantage of, etc.

甘い however does have "not finished properly" and "half hearted" "naive", etc which hint more of the "running" away.

However I think this is spot on(: I didn't know that word yet and just read it now and re-watched... sounded pretty much the same in my opinion!!

As SomeCallMeChris noted yesterday in another thread, Rikaichan isn't a real replacement for a full J-E dictionary (as yet)...

Anyways, I'd suggest that you install rikaichan for mouseover translations in your web browser. Then you can read stuff that interests you. Just remember that the rikaichan pop-ups are from EDICT which is not a full dictionary, but more of a massive glossary. (I get my real J-E definitions from dic.yahoo.jp).

(Although I think he meant http://dic.yahoo.co.jp/ since dic.yahoo.jp doesn't appear to be a valid address.)

Thankkkk you for clarifying Ongakuka's answer and giving me that definition. I don't understand why your explanation actually makes sense, then I look at the dictionary and it's like....

Yes, Ongakuka's correction is correct.
Ah, and you forgot も in 反論もできない.
