のも After a verb?
I'm playing through Earthbound(Mother2) in japanese(which I highly recommend, even if you're a newbie as I am, its all in kana!) Um, anyway.
I keep seeing this mysterious "nomo" following verbs (at least, it appears to be only verbs).
For example, the camera man just appeared for the first time, and says "かけつけるのも はやい とるのも はやい”
Which doesnt make much sense to me...
[edit]
Hm, I also see Te-form + Oku and Te-form + Te alot...

RE: のも After a verb?
if you see the particle の following the 'plain' form of verbs somewhere besides the end of the sentence, it's probably behaving as a nominal (i.e., it makes the verb fuction as a noun). the 'plain' form verb+の can then be followed by the usual suspects of particles (は, が, を, も) depending on the meaning of the sentence. anyway, this is how you would construct sentences along the lines of:
時間(じかん)がある時(とき)、ピアノを弾(ひく)くのが好(す)きです。
when i have time, i like to play the piano.
the て-form of a verb+おく is a grammar that expresses an action is done with some future purpose in mind. you can read about it at tae kim's grammar guide: http://www.guidetojapanese.org/
the て-form of a verb+て is probably a contraction of 〜ていて
