keyboarding question

Postby crowfeather » Wed 03.01.2006 10:21 pm

Is there a way to type the ya-yu-yo smaller when they are used in a modified syllable such as しや ?

Or to make the つ smaller when it denotes a double consonant?

Thank you,
Barbara

There are a number of ways.
usually, you just type it in romaji
sha しゃ
sho しょ
shu しゅ
tte って

or you can press x and then the letter combo you want
xa ぁ
xyu ゅ

Dude, I've been meaning to ask this... Are you flicking me off?:o

Hahaha, just messing with you. I love kana mode. And I don't mean to be picky, but I think if you pronounced things like しゃ as "shiya", you'd probably be met with some confusion. Den-Shi-Ya, for example, sounds a little weird.

I've always used l and then the letter combo..
la ぁ
lyu ゅ
ltsu っ

No advantage of l over x, except that I can type ltsu to get っ which
I can't do by typing xtsu. (May be just my IME settings.)

If you pronounce しゃ as "shiya" you're actually saying しや, which you should be careful of because it doesn't just sound weird, it'll become a different word.:)
