I've been curious for awhile...
Can anyone explain to me the grammercal structure where "sae" appears?
I've seen "sae" several times. But I don't understand what it means or how to use it. Does it mean "...even"? If so, can someone please explain it and show examples?

Sae does indeed mean "even" or "just". It is a fairly intermediate topic with some rules to remember.
Rather than trying to type a clear explanation here that'll just become cluttered, I'll point you to
http://jgram.org/pages/viewOne.php?tagE=sae
which has everything you need. Subsequently, this is the site I refered to when I was studying basic grammar.
