I love how coco links other threads. She is the queen of context.

Actually he didn't have the avatar there before. But my second post in this thread warned him against using "omaera", and in response he pulled out his catchphrase insult and revealed his avatar.
Unfortunately I don't have as much time to learn Japanese as I would like, and therefore I am rather inactive on this forum. Yet I have learnt so much just by reading the "Recent Posts" page every once in a while. I respect those who have taken the time to write up explanations to help others, especially those who have written in a language which is not their native language.

That's true.
He didn't use any avatar until 19:57.

Damn, I go away to go shopping and grab dinner and I come back and find out I've missed all the fun.

That's what you get for having a life away from here. Was your finger itching to hit that ban button as soon as you saw the avatar?

RE: CAN SOMEONE HELP ME OUT!?
ok, since the thread derailed and all, if I could go ahead and refer to the OP since the helpful posts were deleted. Would "whether or not" simply be "verb-u ka verb-nai ka" Rei: ni yasai o taberu ka tabenai ka no wa hachiji ni nete nasai.
例:野菜を食べるか食べないかのは八時に寝てなさい。

I think in that case you have to use 食べても食べなくても (probably just 食べなくても would be enough in most contexts).
The か...か... construction *I think* is only used in embedded questions like たかしちゃんが野菜を食べたかどうかわからない。

之は何?
That guy was very rude. Someone needs to cut back on the anime. I don't think I've ever had a conversation with a nihonjin and heard "貴様”。

Or 食べようが食べまいが
Another useful construction for the "whether" thingy is:
verbかどうか
例: 友達が来れるかどうか、まだわからい。
Never underestimate my capacity for pettiness.
