nutrition vocabulary
One of my interests is health and nutrition. This thread focuses on nutrition in specific. However, there are a lot of terms that are somewhat advanced and I don't know how to translate. If anybody else has a good Japanese nutrition vocabulary, anything with a question mark next to it is something I need confirmed or translated. And if there are any nutrition topics that are popular in Japan that I might not know of, I would be interested in learning them too.
Also, I'm trying to jam this information into a wagawiki page here. However, I don't know much about making wiki pages and it turned out rather ugly. If anybody has the spare time to make it pretty, it would be more appeasing to look at for others.
Here's my list, and after looking at the preview, I realize the forum removed all my pretty spacing.

Re: nutrition vocabulary
You can't find these terms at Jim Breen's? Try the life sciences/bio med dictionary if the standard dictionary isn't giving you results. Alternatively, you can try the dictionary at ALC (www.alc.co.jp), which often has terms you can't find at Breen's. Then, of course, there's always the dictionaries at Yahoo! (www.yahoo.co.jp).
If this still isn't giving you results, you can try looking up the article on Wikipedia.
What you do is go to the English Wikipedia page, look up (for example) 'Leucine,' and when the article comes up, click on the 日本語 link in the 'languages' menu (on the bottom left of the page). This will take you to the companion article on leucine on the Japanese side of Wikipedia.

Re: nutrition vocabulary
That's an imprerssive list. Come to think of it, why doesn't Japnese Page have a lesson of cooking words? Those would be pretty useful, for me at least! I think I will make a list too.

Re: nutrition vocabulary
Neat idea. I don't know how I missed this thread before.
I added the Amino Acids and romaji. What do you think about romaji? Or at least hiragana in brackets?
BTW the Kenkyusha J-E (in the Casio XD-GP9700) had all of the words (so far). I can fill in the rest of the blanks but I have to run.
Start a list in the Wiki. We can contribute as we have time. The reason I haven't made an article about cooking is... I barely know the difference between a tablespoon and a teaspoon--and that's in English.

Re: nutrition vocabulary
Woah, I keep forgetting to check this section of the forum. I don't mind at all if anybody would set up the page to make it more useful for other people. I personally am not great with wiki. I never learned how to design pages to their format. And add whatever vocabulary you want that relates to nutrition
And I don't think you actually need an account to make a wiki page. But I'm not sure since I was already logged in when I made this one.
