View topic - How to prepare for an interview in Japanese
The questions were the basic personality questions, plus a couple pertinent to me as a non-Japanese:
What are your career goals?
Why do you want to work for our company?
Why do you want to work in Japan?
What characteristics make you an appealing candidate?
There were also a couple other questions, like whether I would be okay with transferring (to Tokyo, in my case), and if I had any plans for what I'd be doing with myself outside of work.

They (the interviewers) often seem particularly interested in hobbies, sports etc outside of work. I had one job interview where we hardly discussed my suitability for the job, but talked about what I liked to do on the weekends. When they discovered that I liked tennis, and that I'd bought my tennis racquet to Japan, (because I liked the game so much) they asked if I'd like to come along to the Company's tennis days.I said "Yes" and got the job!
It was the weirdest job interview I ever had.
