Softer version of 自己紹介する

Post by mongol800 » Mon 12.29.2008 10:37 pm

I know ... "自己紹介して下さい”
please introduce yourself....

Is there a softer way of saying.. "So... tell me about yourself.."

In what context? Rather than trying to translate English phrases into Japanese, it's better to find out what a Japanese person might normally talk about or say when they're introduced to each other. "Tell me about yourself" isn't something I've ever said in English, much less Japanese.

Hm.. that's true... Just in a formal situation... as in I walk into a professor or for an interview and a person is looking at my resume... what would be the first thing they say ? "Tell me about yourself-- "
